Esophagus - Amnesia Dark Descent mod (2021-2023)

Pandemia Escondida is a lovecraftian story with major design influences from Soulsborne games, made with 8-10 people on Amnesia - The Dark Descent and the HPL2 engine. I made its initial plans during my hiatus from the Amnesia modding scene (2018-2020), and started realizing it as 2021 began.

During its creation, I led the team myself as the concept-story writer, and lead designer. The project was released in Early Access on Dec 2023. It is currently being prepared for its full release in TBD, by a support team put together during my latest works.

The early access version - titled Esophagus - follows the footsteps of Cardinal Bartholomé, a religious figure in the mod's alternative history. The player witnesses, as his faith is tested through restless sleep and an ever-changing reality, in a battle with higher beings, fought for nothing, but his own sanity.

This "demo" story - that was mainly testing the waters in the remaining playerbase - was praised for its world building and story presentation, but criticized for its lacking aspects of gameplay, general difficulty and unintuitiveness, which the full release plans to address.

Promotional material, world design, ambience, porting custom assets (including ones from HPL3 games) were also my responsibilities.
